Laura Sokal, PhD, is a Professor of Education at the University of Winnipeg. An award-winning teacher, Laura has been on faculty at the UW since 2000. She has served on UNESCO’s expert panel on pandemic recovery in schools (2022-2024), currently advises the Canadian Mental Health Association on teacher burnout and recovery, and represents North America on the Consortium for Inclusive Teacher Education and Development (CITED). She has published three books and 117 articles on psycho-social issues in schooling, but her favourite part of work is teaching.
