Dr. David T. Marshall

David T. Marshall (Ph.D., Virginia Commonwealth University) is an associate professor of educational research and evaluation in the College of Education at Auburn University and is a founding research affiliate of the Plains Research Center. His research focuses on education policy, the experiences of teachers, and education reform initiatives including charter schools and school choice. Dr. Marshall worked with urban teacher residency programs in Virginia for seven years. Before that, he taught middle and high school social studies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Recently, Dr. Marshall served two terms as Chair of the Alabama Public Charter School Commission. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Breakthrough Charter School in Marion, Alabama.
